What Our Customers Say About Our Fitted Wardrobes
Real feedback from customers who have chosen Simply Fitted Wardrobes for made-to-measure fitted wardrobes, bedroom storage and bespoke furniture installations.
What Makes Our Fitted Wardrobes Different?
Not all fitted wardrobes are built in the same way. Some systems are based around standard size units, fixed wardrobe heights and large filler panels that are used to make the furniture appear fitted once it is installed.
Our approach is different. At Simply Fitted Wardrobes, every project is designed and manufactured around the individual room. If your ceiling height is 2368mm, 2654mm or something completely different, we build the wardrobe to suit it. Widths, depths, layouts, wardrobe interiors, doors and finishing details are all planned around the space, not forced into a pre-made system.
Most of our fitted wardrobes are built as full carcass furniture, with neatly finished interiors, backs, tops, sides and floors. Where a front-frame approach is the right solution, we can do that too — but the construction method is chosen around the customer, the room and the result, not because it is easier for us to manufacture.
The result is a properly made-to-measure wardrobe, designed around how you want to use your storage, with honest advice, clear pricing and no hard-sell design visit.
Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes Without the Standard Size Compromise
Because we manufacture our own fitted wardrobes, we are not limited to fixed box sizes or set wardrobe heights. Your furniture is made around the room, the layout and the way you want to use the space — from full height wardrobes and awkward alcoves to internal drawers, long hanging, shoe storage and carefully finished details.
- Built to suit your exact room dimensions
- No fixed wardrobe heights or unnecessary oversized filler panels
- Full carcass construction available for a properly finished interior
- Layouts designed around your clothes, shoes, drawers and daily routine
- Honest advice with no pressure selling in your home
- Manufactured and installed by a small, experienced, family-run team
Built Around Your Room, Not Around Standard Sizes
A fitted wardrobe should make the most of the space you actually have, not force your room to work around standard-size furniture. Our wardrobes are measured, designed and manufactured around your room, your ceiling height and the way you want to use your storage.
The Standard Size Approach
Some fitted wardrobe systems are based on fixed wardrobe widths, set wardrobe heights and large filler panels used to create a fitted appearance. This can leave unused areas, awkward voids or furniture that looks built in from the outside but is not truly made-to-measure for the space in the room.
Our Made-to-Measure Approach
At Simply Fitted Wardrobes, we make your furniture to suit the actual dimensions of the room. Widths, depths, heights, doors, interiors as well as finishing details can all be adjusted to suit the space, so the wardrobe is designed around you and your home rather than adapted afterwards.
Full Height Storage
Whether your ceiling is low, high or uneven, we design the wardrobe around the height of the room instead of forcing a standard-size wardrobe to fit.
Awkward Spaces Made Useful
Alcoves, sloped ceilings, chimney breasts and unusual wall shapes can all be planned into the wardrobe design rather than treated as a problem.
Interiors Planned Around You
Hanging, shelving, lighting, internal drawers, shoe storage and long hanging are planned around how you actually use your bedroom. Explore our wardrobe interiors for more storage ideas.
We believe fitted wardrobes should be furniture made properly for the room, not standard-size furniture made to look fitted.
Wardrobe Interiors Designed Around How You Live
The outside of a fitted wardrobe creates the look of the room, but the inside is what makes it work every day. A good wardrobe interior should be planned around what you actually need to store, not just a standard hanging rail and shelf.
At Simply Fitted Wardrobes, every wardrobe interior can be designed around your clothes, shoes, drawers, accessories, hanging, folded items and daily routine. Whether you need simple hanging space, internal drawers, adjustable shelving or a more detailed bespoke fitted wardrobe interior, we help make sure the internal layout is practical before anything is manufactured.
Storage Planned Around Your Clothes
Most people start with a simple problem: they do not have enough useful storage. But the best fitted wardrobe layout depends on what you own and how you plan to use the room.
Some customers need more double hanging for shirts, jackets and everyday clothing. Others need long hanging for dresses and coats, more shelves for folded items or a mixture of hanging and open storage.
- Double hanging for everyday clothing
- Long hanging for dresses and coats
- Adjustable shelving for folded items
- Storage planned around your routine
Drawers, Shoe Storage and Display Shelving
A fitted wardrobe interior can include far more than hanging rails. Internal drawers, shoe shelves, pull-out storage, display shelving, lighting and accessory sections can all be included depending on how detailed you want the design to be.
This is where bespoke fitted wardrobes become more useful than freestanding furniture or standard modular, rigid systems. Instead of working around fixed internal layouts, we can design the inside of the wardrobe around the items you will use most.
- Internal drawers and jewellery pull-outs
- Shoe storage and display shelving
- LED lighting options
- Accessory storage for smaller items
Every Space Given a Clear Purpose
Many bedrooms have spaces that standard furniture cannot use properly. Alcoves, high ceilings, narrow walls, angled ceilings as well as awkward corners can all make off-the-shelf storage difficult.
With a made-to-measure, truly bespoke fitted wardrobe, the interior can be planned exactly as you need it to work. That means awkward areas can become useful storage, tall rooms can be used properly and every section of the wardrobe can have a clear purpose.
- Useful storage in awkward spaces
- Interiors planned exactly as you need them
- Better use of height, width and depth
- Designed before anything is manufactured

How Our Fitted Wardrobe Process Works
Buying fitted wardrobes should feel clear, practical and pressure-free. From the first enquiry through to design, manufacture and installation, we keep the process simple so you know what happens at every stage.
Start With Photos or a Design Visit
Many customers begin by sending photos, approximate measurements and a rough idea of what they want. This helps us give you guidance before arranging a fitted wardrobe design visit if the project looks like the right fit.
We Measure and Plan the Space
During the design visit, we measure the room properly, discuss the fitted wardrobe styles, look at the storage you need and talk through practical details such as storage options, suitable finishes, ways to utilise the space and wardrobe interior options.
Your Wardrobes Are Made to Order
Once the design is agreed, your fitted wardrobes are manufactured to suit your room rather than pulled from standard-size stock products. Doors, panels, carcasses and internal layouts are all prepared around the agreed design, finish and measurements for your specific room.
Installed and Finished Properly
Our team installs the furniture in your home, scribes panels where needed for a clean fitted finish, adjusts the doors and drawers and leaves you with a completed made-to-measure fitted wardrobe installation designed around the way you use the room.
A Simple Way to Buy Fitted Wardrobes
No hard-sell sales visit. No inflated “sale” pricing. Never any pressure to decide on the day. We give honest advice, practical design guidance and a clear quotation for you to review in your own time.
How Much Do Fitted Wardrobes Cost?
As a general guide, our fitted wardrobe projects typically start from around £2,500 including VAT, with the final price depending on the size of the space, wardrobe range, finish, interior layout and installation details.
The cost of fitted wardrobes depends on the size of the space, the wardrobe style and range you choose, the number of doors, the internal layout, the finish and the level of detail required.
Because every project is made-to-measure, a simple wardrobe with hanging and shelving inside will cost less than a larger installation with internal drawers, mirrors, lighting, premium finishing touches and more detailed fitting work.
We believe fitted wardrobe pricing should be clear and practical. No inflated “sale” pricing, no pressure to sign on the day and no hiding the price conversation until someone visits your home. You can read our full fitted wardrobe cost guide or send photos for a quick estimate.
What Do Your Fitted Wardrobes Start From?
Our fitted wardrobe projects typically start from around £2,500 including VAT. This is a general starting guide, not a fixed quotation, because every wardrobe is designed, measured and manufactured around the room.
Why Do Fitted Wardrobe Prices Vary So Much?
Two wardrobes can look similar online but be very different in construction, materials, interior layout and installation detail. Size, door style, finish, drawers, lighting and fitting complexity all affect the final price.
Do Different Wardrobe Ranges Cost Different Amounts?
Yes. We operate a tiered price group structure, from PG1 entry-level finishes through to premium options up to PG6 solid oak. Your chosen fitted wardrobe range has a direct impact on the quotation price.
Can I Get a Price Before a Design Visit?
In many cases, yes. If you send photos, approximate measurements, your postcode and an idea of the style and interior layout you want, we can usually give early guidance before arranging a full design visit.

Fitted Wardrobe FAQs
Buying fitted wardrobes is a big decision, so it is worth understanding the practical details before you book a design visit. These are some of the most common questions customers ask us about fitted wardrobe cost, design, storage, installation and long-term value.
What are fitted wardrobes?
Fitted wardrobes are wardrobes designed to fit into a specific space in your room. Unlike freestanding wardrobes, they can be built to suit varying wall widths, ceiling heights, alcoves, chimney breasts, sloped ceilings and awkward corners.
A properly designed fitted wardrobe should make better use of the available space, reduce wasted gaps and create storage that feels like part of the room rather than furniture that has simply been placed inside it.
How much do fitted wardrobes cost?
As a general guide, our fitted wardrobe projects typically start from around £2,500 including VAT. The final price depends on the size of the space, the wardrobe range, the number of doors, the internal layout, the finish and the level of installation work required.
A simple hanging and shelving layout will cost less than a larger wardrobe project with internal drawers, mirrors, lighting, glass shelving or premium finishes. You can read more in our fitted wardrobe cost guide.
Can I get a fitted wardrobe estimate before a design visit?
In many cases, yes. If you send us photos of the space, approximate measurements, your postcode and an idea of the style or interior layout you want, we can usually give early price guidance before arranging a full design visit.
This does not replace accurate measuring, but it does help you understand whether the project is likely to suit your budget before anyone visits your home.
Why do fitted wardrobe prices vary so much?
Two fitted wardrobes can look similar in photos but be very different in construction, materials, internal layouts and fitting details. Door style, finish, mirrors, drawers, lighting, carcass construction, ceiling heights and installation complexity can all affect the final price.
This is why it is important to compare more than just the outside appearance. Ask what is included inside the wardrobe, how it is made, how it is built, what materials are used and whether the quote includes fitting, finishing details and aftercare.
Are fitted wardrobes worth it?
Fitted wardrobes can be worth it when you want better storage, a cleaner room layout and furniture that is designed around the way you use the space. They are especially useful in bedrooms where freestanding wardrobes leave awkward gaps or do not make full use of the room’s space.
The value comes from practical storage, long-term use and a more finished look, rather than simply adding furniture to a room.
Do fitted wardrobes add value to a home?
Fitted wardrobes can help improve the presentation and usability of a home, especially in bedrooms where storage is limited. A well-designed wardrobe can make a room feel more organised, more finished and easier for future buyers to understand.
They should not be treated as a guaranteed increase in property value, but good fitted storage can make a home more attractive as well as more practical.
What is the difference between fitted wardrobes and freestanding wardrobes?
Freestanding wardrobes are made to standard sizes and placed inside the room. Fitted wardrobes are designed around the room itself, which means they can run wall to wall, floor to ceiling and around awkward features.
This gives a more built-in appearance and better use of space, especially where standard furniture would leave gaps at the sides, above the wardrobe or around uneven walls.
Are your fitted wardrobes truly made-to-measure?
Yes. Our fitted wardrobes are designed and manufactured around the measurements and requirements of your individual room. We are not simply working from fixed box sizes and filling the leftover gaps with oversized panels.
This allows us to plan the wardrobe height, width, sections, doors and interior layouts around the actual space. You can also explore our fitted wardrobe ranges to see the different styles available.
How deep do fitted wardrobes need to be?
For standard hanging space, we usually recommend a wardrobe depth of around 60cm so clothes on hangers can sit comfortably without being crushed by the doors. The best depth depends on what you want to store and how the wardrobe will be used.
Shallower wardrobes can still work well for folded clothes, shoes, shelving, children’s rooms, alcoves or occasional storage, but the design needs to be planned around the way you will actually use it.
Can fitted wardrobes work in awkward spaces?
Yes. Awkward spaces are often one of the main reasons people choose fitted wardrobes. Alcoves, sloped ceilings, chimney breasts, uneven walls and unusual room shapes can usually be designed around with the right planning.
Because every wardrobe is made-to-measure, the design can be adjusted to suit the room rather than forcing standard furniture into a difficult space.
What can I have inside my fitted wardrobe?
Your fitted wardrobe interior can be as bespoke as you require. This can include hanging rails, double hanging, long hanging, shelving, internal drawers, shoe storage, glass shelving, lighting, pull-out accessories and display sections.
The best layout depends on your clothes, shoes, accessories and how you use the room day to day. Our wardrobe interiors page shows more examples of how the inside can be planned.
Do fitted wardrobes need backs or ventilation?
This depends on the room, the wall condition and the construction method. Some wardrobes are designed with full backs, while others may be planned differently depending on airflow, external walls, damp concerns or the type of installation.
Good design should take the room into account rather than using the same answer for every property. If there are known damp, condensation or ventilation issues, these should be discussed before the wardrobe is manufactured and installed.
