The design brief for these fitted wardrobes in colchester
Our client had been looking for a bespoke solution for their period property in colchester. The home featured many traditional elements, including the room’s original fireplace, which, although blocked off, remained a charming focal point.. The issue had been the client was unable to maximise the storage space fully. Either side of the chimney breast in the alcoves they had struggled to find any body to build shallow storage in front of the chimney breast. The client did like the thought of fitted wardrobes in alcoves. They also wanted a balanced, symmetrical design that incorporated both mirrors and a space to watch television from the bed.

We met with the client and discuss their needs form the new fitted wardrobe in colchester. We helped in terms of styles. Due to the nature of the traditional property the client wanted something that hinted towards the traditional style fitted wardrobes however also bought in elements of modern to create almost a best of both worlds.
Our Rockingham Range had been chosen with help with our team. However the twist came when we customised the layout of the doors. These featured 4 equal inset panels. This styles differs from the standard 2 panel shaker traditional door. The new door design allowed us to utilise the shallow depth fitted wardrobes in front of the chimney breast. These were to have the central doors mirrored whilst maintaining the lines from the mid rails n the doors to allow the symmetry to follow through. After the client visited our showroom the order was placed and we set about getting the job created.

We arrived on the installation date fully prepared and ready to begin. The work progressed smoothly without any issues, leaving the client thrilled with the results. The full carcass internals featured our beautifully rich oak finish, complemented by illuminated LED strips in each wardrobe section. These lights as can be seen here are also effortlessly operated by motion sensors, immediately illuminate the interior as soon as the wardrobe doors open, making them not only a seamless addition but also a sophisticated albeit practical feature that truly enhances the overall design, if we may say so ourselves!
We completed the project on time, leaving the client highly satisfied. After sign-off, the client shared excellent feedback on the quality of the work. This project is a proud addition to our portfolio, and we thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with such a fantastic client.
