Luxury Fitted Wardrobes
Luxury fitted wardrobes should be defined by more than an expensive finish. The difference comes from the way the furniture is designed around the room, the quality and character of the materials, the proportions of the doors, the interior planning and the detail of the finished installation.
At Simply Fitted Wardrobes, every wardrobe is bespoke and made to measure. Choose from premium textured woodgrains, Super Matt and High Gloss contemporary designs, bespoke Shaker wardrobes, individually designed painted furniture and genuine solid oak framed Shaker wardrobes. Each project can be developed around the architecture of the room and the style you want to create rather than being restricted by fixed wardrobe modules.
What Actually Makes a Fitted Wardrobe Luxury?
A luxury fitted wardrobe is not simply a standard wardrobe with a more expensive door fitted to the front. The overall result comes from the way the furniture is designed, proportioned, constructed and finished as a complete piece.
Different customers will also define luxury differently. For one bedroom it may mean understated textured woodgrain furniture; for another it may be a completely bespoke painted Shaker design or genuine solid oak framed doors. What matters is that the furniture, materials and details are appropriate for the room rather than being forced into a predetermined system.
If you would like to compare the wider collection, you can also explore our fitted wardrobe ranges to see the different styles, finishes and price levels available.
Genuine Made-to-Measure Design
Premium fitted furniture should work with the actual dimensions of the room. Wardrobe widths, heights, door proportions and surrounding panels can be designed around the space rather than relying on a limited collection of standard modules and oversized infills.
Materials with Real Character
Luxury does not have to mean one particular material. Deep textured woodgrain, Super Matt, High Gloss, bespoke painted furniture and genuine solid oak framed Shaker doors can all create premium fitted wardrobes when the material suits the design.
Proper Furniture Construction
The quality behind the doors matters too. Our standard specification uses full 18mm carcass construction, including solid 18mm backs, so the internal furniture is designed as a complete cabinet rather than simply a decorative front fitted across the room.
Proportion & Detailing
Frame widths, panel arrangements, handle positions, scribe details and the relationship between doors and surrounding furniture can have a surprisingly large effect on the finished result. Small differences in proportion often separate considered furniture from something that simply fills the available wall.
An Interior Designed Around You
A luxury wardrobe should work as well internally as it looks externally. Hanging space, shelving, drawers, shoe storage, accessories and lighting can all be planned around how the wardrobe will actually be used rather than following one fixed interior package.
A Finish That Belongs in the Room
The final installation should feel integrated with the architecture rather than added afterwards. Ceiling lines, alcoves, angled walls, neighbouring furniture and surrounding finishes can all influence how the wardrobes are designed and fitted.
An expensive material alone does not automatically create a luxury fitted wardrobe. The strongest designs bring together appropriate materials, genuinely bespoke proportions, useful interiors, considered detailing and careful installation so the whole piece of furniture feels right for the room.
Five Ways to Create a Luxury Fitted Wardrobe
There is no single formula for a luxury fitted wardrobe. A premium bedroom can be contemporary and minimal, richly textured, traditionally Shaker, individually painted or designed around the natural character of genuine oak.
Our premium fitted wardrobe ranges therefore offer five very different routes to a high-end made-to-measure design. The right choice depends on the architecture of the room, the finish you want to create and the level of personalisation that matters to you.
Luxury Woodgrain Fitted Wardrobes
Mallory RangeThe Mallory range is our premium route to a rich, natural-look woodgrain fitted wardrobe. Deep, synchronised textures give the surfaces significantly more visual and tactile depth than a conventional flat wood-effect finish, allowing oak-effect and walnut-effect designs to become a feature within the bedroom.
It is particularly suited to customers who want the warmth and character associated with timber while retaining the flexibility and consistency of a premium decorative woodgrain finish.

Luxury Modern & Contemporary Fitted Wardrobes
Oulton RangeFor a cleaner architectural look, Oulton creates luxury contemporary fitted wardrobes using premium Super Matt and High Gloss slab finishes. Designs can use conventional handles, integrated or J-pull details, push-to-open hardware or a true handleless arrangement depending on the finished aesthetic.
The result can range from understated matt furniture that sits quietly within the room to a striking High Gloss or true handleless installation with strong contemporary lines.

Luxury Shaker Fitted Wardrobes
Rockingham RangeRockingham brings the proportions and panel detailing of Shaker fitted wardrobes into a genuinely made-to-measure design. Different rail widths, panel arrangements and door proportions allow the same core style to work in modern bedrooms, traditional homes and period properties.
From understated single-panel Shaker doors through to beaded, multi-panel and more traditional arrangements, Rockingham provides considerable freedom to create a premium Shaker bedroom without forcing the design into one fixed door pattern.

Bespoke Painted Luxury Fitted Wardrobes
Goodwood RangeGoodwood is where the design becomes considerably more individual. Doors and decorative panels can be created in bespoke 18mm or 22mm designs, allowing custom Shaker proportions, grooves, fluted detailing and other personalised profiles to be developed specifically for the project.
Finishes can be supplied raw, hand painted or professionally workshop sprayed, with colour matching available when a particular room colour or design reference needs to be followed. It is one of our strongest choices when the furniture needs to feel individually designed for the home.

Solid Oak Framed Luxury Fitted Wardrobes
Silverstone RangeSilverstone is our highest material specification and our most traditional luxury wardrobe range. Each Shaker door uses a genuine 20mm solid oak outer frame with an oak-veneered centre panel, bringing the visible grain, texture and tactile character associated with real timber furniture.
The oak can remain natural or be professionally painted, allowing the timber grain to remain part of the finished character. Silverstone is particularly suited to premium bedrooms and traditional interiors where the material itself forms an important part of the design.
Explore Silverstone Solid Oak Framed Wardrobes →The most expensive range is not automatically the right design for every room. A premium fitted wardrobe works best when the material, proportions and level of detail suit the property and the customer. That is why our luxury fitted wardrobe collection includes contemporary, textured woodgrain, Shaker, bespoke painted and genuine oak framed options rather than one predetermined definition of luxury.
How Much Do Luxury Fitted Wardrobes Cost?
The cost of luxury fitted wardrobes depends on much more than the overall width of the furniture. Door construction, finish, drawers, bespoke detailing and the complexity of the design can all influence the final price.
To make the difference between our premium ranges easier to understand, the prices below compare the exact same fitted wardrobe design. The interior, carcass construction, dimensions and installation remain the same; only the exterior wardrobe range changes.
The example uses two 1000mm double wardrobes — four doors and 2m overall width. One wardrobe has full-width double hanging. The second is split between shelving and long hanging. All versions include our full 18mm carcass construction with solid 18mm backs, a standard carcass finish, installation and VAT. The only change is the exterior range.

Why Can Two Luxury Wardrobes Cost So Differently?
A larger price does not necessarily mean a wardrobe is automatically more suitable for the room. The difference often reflects how the furniture is manufactured, finished and detailed. A premium decorative woodgrain, a professionally sprayed bespoke door and a genuine solid oak framed door all involve different materials and manufacturing processes.
The final project price can then change again depending on the number of doors and drawers, the interior specification, lighting and the complexity of the room or furniture design.
These prices are a like-for-like example designed to show how exterior range choice affects the price of the same wardrobe. Individual projects are quoted to the actual dimensions, specification and design required.
Luxury Fitted Wardrobe Materials & Finishes
The material and finish can completely change the character of a luxury fitted wardrobe. Some bedrooms suit deep textured woodgrains and natural-looking surfaces, while others call for a cleaner contemporary finish, bespoke paintwork or the character of genuine oak.
The important part is choosing a finish that works with the style of the furniture, architecture of the room and overall interior scheme rather than assuming luxury has one particular appearance.
Premium Textured Woodgrain Fitted Wardrobes
Deep textured oak-effect and walnut-effect finishes can give fitted furniture considerable visual and tactile depth. They are ideal for customers who want the warmth and character of luxury woodgrain fitted wardrobes while retaining the consistency of a premium decorative furniture surface.
Premium textured finishes are particularly suited to our Mallory range.
Super Matt & High Gloss Fitted Wardrobes
Contemporary fitted wardrobes can take two very different premium directions. Super Matt fitted wardrobes create a restrained low-sheen appearance, while High Gloss fitted wardrobes use reflection and light to produce a sharper, more architectural finish.
Super Matt and High Gloss finishes are available within our Oulton range.
Bespoke Painted Fitted Wardrobes
Painted furniture gives considerably more freedom to coordinate the wardrobes with the rest of the bedroom. Goodwood doors and panels can be individually designed before being supplied raw, hand painted or professionally workshop sprayed, creating bespoke painted fitted wardrobes tailored to the project.
Bespoke painted furniture is a key part of our Goodwood collection.
Solid Oak Framed Shaker Fitted Wardrobes
Silverstone introduces genuine timber into the wardrobe door construction using a 20mm solid oak outer frame with an oak-veneered centre panel. Natural grain and variation become part of the furniture itself, with the oak available in natural or professionally painted finishes.
Genuine solid oak framed Shaker doors are exclusive to our Silverstone range.Matt Smooth Shaker Fitted Wardrobes
A smooth matt finish allows the proportions and panel detail of a Shaker door to become the main feature. This gives our Rockingham range considerable flexibility, from cleaner modern Shaker designs through to more traditional fitted bedroom furniture.
Material and Finish Are Not the Same Thing
A woodgrain-effect finish can recreate the appearance and texture of timber without being solid wood. Silverstone is different because the outer door frame is genuinely solid oak. Understanding both the construction and surface finish gives a much clearer comparison between luxury fitted wardrobes.
Texture, sheen and colour can look very different on a screen compared with a physical sample. During the design process we can bring relevant material and finish samples so they can be considered alongside the lighting, flooring and other finishes in the room.
Painted Luxury Fitted Wardrobes & Bespoke Colour Matching
Painted fitted wardrobes are one of the most flexible ways to create genuinely individual bedroom furniture. Instead of choosing only from a small fixed collection of wardrobe colours, the finish can be developed around the wider interior scheme.
Our Goodwood range is particularly suited to bespoke painted fitted wardrobes. Doors and decorative panels can be created to the proportions and detailing required for the project, then supplied raw, hand painted or professionally workshop sprayed.
Where a particular colour is important, we can work from recognised paint colours, physical samples and other suitable references. This means the wardrobes can be developed around existing walls, furniture, joinery or a new decorating scheme rather than treating the wardrobe colour as a separate decision.
Explore Goodwood Bespoke Painted Wardrobes →Farrow & Ball Wardrobe Colours and Bespoke Paint Matching
Customers often arrive with a particular colour already in mind. Farrow & Ball wardrobe colours are a common reference, but our bespoke colour matching is not restricted to one collection. Shades from Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux and Crown — or another suitable colour or physical sample — can be used as the reference for a closely matched fitted wardrobe finish.
Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux and Crown colours may be used as references when creating a closely matched painted furniture finish. This does not imply an affiliation with those brands or mean that the furniture is necessarily coated using paint manufactured by the referenced company.
Surface texture, sheen, material and lighting can all influence how a colour appears. We explain the issue in more detail in our guide to colour matching fitted wardrobe doors and surrounding panels.
Read Why Fitted Wardrobe Colours Don't Always Match →Luxury Fitted Wardrobe Interiors Designed Around You
A luxury fitted wardrobe should work just as well inside as it looks from the outside. Hanging space, shelving, drawers and specialist storage can all be arranged around the clothes, footwear and accessories you actually need to store.
Rather than using one predetermined premium interior package, we design bespoke wardrobe interiors around the customer, the available space and the way the fitted wardrobe will be used.
Luxury Fitted Wardrobe Interior Storage Options
Our fitted wardrobe interiors are planned separately from the exterior wardrobe range. Choosing Mallory, Oulton, Rockingham, Goodwood or Silverstone therefore does not dictate how the inside of the wardrobe must be arranged.
A practical made-to-measure wardrobe interior can combine double hanging, long hanging, fixed or adjustable wardrobe shelving, internal drawers, shoe storage and additional accessories according to the available space and what needs to be stored.
Explore Our Fitted Wardrobe Interiors →The best bespoke wardrobe interior is not necessarily the one with the most accessories. It is the layout that provides the right balance of hanging space, shelving, drawers and specialist storage for the person using it while making efficient use of the available space.

Browse Our Fitted Wardrobe Projects →Luxury Fitted Wardrobes for Awkward Spaces & Unusual Rooms
Some of the most successful fitted wardrobes are created in rooms where standard furniture struggles to work. Sloping ceilings, eaves, alcoves, uneven walls and unusual room heights all benefit from furniture being designed around the actual space.
Our bespoke wardrobes for awkward spaces are manufactured to the required dimensions rather than forcing a fixed wardrobe module into the room and disguising the remaining space with oversized infill panels.
Made-to-Measure Fitted Wardrobes for Difficult Spaces
Rooms are rarely perfectly square. A genuinely made-to-measure fitted wardrobe can be designed around changing ceiling heights, chimney breasts, alcoves, eaves, deep skirting, uneven walls and other architectural features that make a standard wardrobe difficult to use.
The wardrobe height, width, depth, carcass shape and door proportions can all be considered as part of the design, allowing wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes to feel intentional rather than adapted from a predetermined cabinet size.
Explore Our Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes →Angled Fitted Wardrobes for Sloping Ceilings & Eaves
Angled carcasses and carefully planned door proportions can help make use of bedrooms, loft rooms and dressing spaces where the ceiling height changes across the wardrobe run.
Alcove Fitted Wardrobes & Uneven Walls
Alcoves often vary in width and depth, particularly in older properties. Bespoke alcove fitted wardrobes can be sized individually so each section works with the architecture rather than assuming both sides of the room are identical.
Floor-to-Ceiling Fitted Wardrobes for Unusual Room Heights
Tall ceilings, low ceilings and changing room heights can all be incorporated into the furniture design, helping maximise storage while keeping the finished wardrobes proportionate to the room.
We do not add a separate “bespoke surcharge” simply because a room has an awkward shape. The furniture is already designed and manufactured around the individual project, so unusual widths, ceiling heights and room shapes can be considered from the beginning of the design process.
How We Design & Manufacture Luxury Fitted Wardrobes
A luxury fitted wardrobe is not created simply by choosing a more expensive door finish. The quality of the finished furniture also depends on how accurately it is designed, how it is constructed and how well the proportions work with the room.
Our made-to-measure fitted wardrobes are designed around the individual project and manufactured in-house, allowing the dimensions, exterior style, interior layout and construction to be considered together rather than treating them as separate products.
Bespoke Fitted Wardrobe Design Around the Room
The starting point is the room itself. Wall width, ceiling height, available depth, alcoves, angles and other architectural features all influence how a fitted wardrobe should be designed.
Rather than starting with predetermined cabinet sizes and trying to make them fit afterwards, a bespoke fitted wardrobe design allows the furniture dimensions and proportions to be developed around the actual available space.
Made-to-Measure Fitted Wardrobes Manufactured In-House
Our fitted wardrobes are manufactured in-house by Simply Fitted Wardrobes. This gives us the flexibility to produce furniture to the dimensions required for the individual room rather than relying on a fixed modular wardrobe system.
Widths, heights, depths and exterior proportions can therefore be considered as part of the design, whether the project requires conventional fitted wardrobes, floor-to-ceiling furniture, angled wardrobes or more individually detailed bedroom furniture.
Full 18mm Fitted Wardrobe Carcass Construction
Construction matters just as much as the visible wardrobe doors. Our standard fitted wardrobe construction uses a full 18mm carcass, including 18mm sides, bases, tops and solid 18mm backs where appropriate.
That construction is standard across the wardrobe ranges. Moving from a more affordable exterior finish to a luxury painted, textured or solid oak framed door does not mean the underlying wardrobe carcass suddenly changes from a basic construction to a premium one.
Professional Made-to-Measure Fitted Wardrobe Installation
The final stage is installation, where the manufactured furniture and the actual room come together. The finished wardrobe needs to work with the walls, ceiling lines and proportions that were considered during the design stage.
This is particularly important for wall-to-wall fitted wardrobes, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes, alcove wardrobes and angled fitted wardrobes, where the quality of the finished result depends on the furniture being designed for that particular space from the outset.
Why Construction Matters in a Luxury Fitted Wardrobe
A premium door finish can change the appearance of a wardrobe, but it does not by itself make the complete piece of furniture luxurious. The underlying carcass, proportions, interior layout and relationship with the room all contribute to the finished result.
This is why we separate the idea of luxury fitted wardrobe finishes from the quality of the underlying furniture. The same full carcass approach sits behind our different exterior ranges, while the customer can choose the style and material that best suits the room and budget.
Explore Our Made-to-Measure Fitted Wardrobes →The aim is not simply to make a wardrobe look expensive. It is to create fitted furniture whose dimensions, construction, finish, interiors and proportions all make sense for the room in which it is being installed.

Customer feedback provides real-world evidence of the design, service and finished installations delivered by Simply Fitted Wardrobes.
Honest Fitted Wardrobe Pricing Without Artificial Sales
We do not build our pricing around permanent “sales”, inflated starting prices or pressure to make a decision before an offer supposedly disappears.
Our approach is to provide the best genuine price for the specification being quoted, with the wardrobe style, dimensions, drawers, interiors and design complexity determining the final cost.
Bespoke Fitted Wardrobes Without a Bespoke Surcharge
Made-to-measure furniture is how we normally work. An unusual ceiling height, awkward alcove or non-standard wardrobe width is therefore not treated as an excuse to add a separate “bespoke” premium simply because the furniture needs to be manufactured to suit the room.
The same principle applies across our fitted wardrobe ranges: full 18mm carcass construction, soft-close fittings and made-to-measure design remain part of the underlying furniture while the customer chooses the exterior style and finish that best suits the project.
Read Our Fitted Wardrobe Cost Guide →Our aim is straightforward: design the right fitted furniture for the room, explain the available choices clearly, price the project honestly and manufacture the wardrobes properly rather than relying on artificial discounts or pressure-led selling.
Luxury Fitted Wardrobe FAQs
Answers to some of the most common questions about luxury fitted wardrobes, bespoke design, painted finishes, wardrobe interiors, construction and made-to-measure furniture.
What makes a fitted wardrobe a luxury fitted wardrobe?
A luxury fitted wardrobe is not defined by one particular door style or by choosing the most expensive material. The overall result comes from the quality of the design, proportions, construction, exterior finish, wardrobe interiors and how well the furniture has been designed around the room.
Luxury fitted wardrobes can therefore be contemporary, Shaker, painted, textured woodgrain or solid oak framed. The important difference is how the complete piece of fitted furniture has been specified and produced.
How much do luxury fitted wardrobes cost?
The cost of luxury fitted wardrobes depends mainly on the exterior style and finish, the size and number of wardrobe doors, drawers, internal storage, lighting, accessories and the complexity of the design.
On our like-for-like 2 metre fitted wardrobe benchmark, our luxury ranges run from £2,789.84 for Mallory through to £6,586.08 for Silverstone. These benchmark prices include VAT and installation and use the same wardrobe dimensions, carcass construction and basic interior specification so the exterior ranges can be compared fairly.
Are your luxury fitted wardrobes genuinely made to measure?
Yes. Our fitted wardrobes are designed around the dimensions of the individual room rather than being restricted to a fixed modular wardrobe system. Width, height, depth, door proportions and carcass dimensions can all be considered as part of the design.
This allows the furniture to work with unusual ceiling heights, alcoves, angled walls and other room features instead of relying on unnecessarily large infill panels to make standard cabinet sizes fit.
Can you make luxury fitted wardrobes for sloping ceilings and awkward spaces?
Yes. Angled fitted wardrobes, wardrobes for sloping ceilings, alcove wardrobes, fitted wardrobes under eaves and furniture for unusual room shapes can all be designed around the available space.
Because the furniture is made to measure, the wardrobe carcasses, widths, heights and proportions can be developed around the architecture rather than trying to adapt a predetermined cabinet size after the design has already been chosen.
Can fitted wardrobes be colour matched to Farrow & Ball and other paint colours?
Yes. Recognised paint colours such as Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Dulux and Crown can be used as colour references when developing a closely matched fitted wardrobe finish. Other suitable colours and physical samples can also be used as references.
Using a brand colour as a reference does not imply an affiliation with that paint company or mean that the fitted furniture is necessarily coated using paint manufactured by the referenced brand.
Do luxury fitted wardrobes have to be Shaker style?
No. Luxury fitted wardrobes can have very different appearances. Mallory provides premium textured woodgrain finishes, Oulton covers Super Matt and High Gloss contemporary furniture, Rockingham offers Shaker designs, Goodwood allows highly bespoke painted furniture and Silverstone provides genuine solid oak framed Shaker doors.
The right choice depends on the architecture, interior design and level of detailing wanted for the individual room.
What construction do your luxury fitted wardrobes use?
Our standard fitted wardrobe construction uses a full 18mm carcass, including 18mm sides, bases, tops and solid 18mm backs where appropriate.
This underlying carcass construction is not reserved only for the most expensive exterior ranges. Customers can therefore choose the wardrobe style and finish they prefer without needing to upgrade from a basic carcass simply to obtain proper furniture construction.
Can luxury fitted wardrobe interiors be designed separately from the exterior?
Yes. The wardrobe interior is planned around what needs to be stored rather than being dictated by the exterior door range. Hanging space, long hanging, double hanging, fixed or adjustable shelving, internal drawers, shoe storage and other suitable accessories can be considered as part of the internal layout.
This means a contemporary High Gloss wardrobe and a traditional Shaker wardrobe can both have practical interiors designed around the individual customer.
What is different about Silverstone solid oak framed fitted wardrobes?
Silverstone uses a genuine 20mm solid oak outer door frame with an oak-veneered centre panel. The oak frame provides the natural timber detail associated with premium framed furniture while the centre panel uses an oak veneer rather than being described as solid oak.
The doors can be used with a natural oak appearance or professionally painted, depending on the design of the room.
Where are your luxury fitted wardrobes manufactured and what warranty do they have?
Our bespoke fitted wardrobes are manufactured in-house by Simply Fitted Wardrobes, allowing the furniture to be produced around the dimensions and specification of the individual project.
Our fitted furniture is supplied with a 10-year materials warranty, giving customers long-term reassurance after the wardrobes have been installed.
